隨著英國(guó)脫歐,，選擇英國(guó)留學(xué)和購(gòu)物成了最好的時(shí)機(jī)，那么,，多掌握一些英國(guó)人的日常表達(dá),，對(duì)于出國(guó)留學(xué)或者購(gòu)物還是很有幫助的。

1,、“Can I get a…”

英國(guó)人吐槽：當(dāng)某些人想要什么東西時(shí),，我經(jīng)常聽(tīng)到他們說(shuō)：“Can I get a…(我能要一個(gè)……)”這讓我大為惱火。這里又不是紐約,，又不是90年代,，你以為你是在Central Perk里演《老友記》啊，真是的!

英式表達(dá)：Please can I have/ I’d like to order the…

2,、“l(fā)east worst option”

英國(guó)人吐槽：下次要是有人跟你講**是the “l(fā)east worst option”(最好選擇),，你就告訴他們對(duì)于他們來(lái)說(shuō)最最最好的選擇是滾回去學(xué)語(yǔ)法。

英式表達(dá)：The lesser of two evils/the better of the two

eg：I think going with him is the better of two evils/is the better of the two options.

3,、”two-time” and “three-time”

英國(guó)人吐槽：我經(jīng)歷過(guò)的漸漸滲入到英語(yǔ)里的短語(yǔ)(特別是播音員使用的)是“two-time(兩次)”和“three-time(三次)”,。難道double啊triple啊什么的都徹底消失了么?從語(yǔ)法上來(lái)說(shuō)，這根本構(gòu)不成短語(yǔ),，而且用在口語(yǔ)中更糟糕,。每次聽(tīng)到或者看到它我就心跳加速。這對(duì)我的健康造成了威脅,，因?yàn)榛�本每天都要�?jīng)歷這些,。我去!

英式表達(dá)：double，triple,，quadruple,，quintuple

Eg：a double occurrence (not a two-time occurrence)

4、24/7

英國(guó)人吐槽：使用24/7來(lái)表達(dá)“全天候”,，不如就樸實(shí)地說(shuō)“all day, every day”,。

英式表達(dá)：All the time/constantly

Eg：He plays video game the whole time/he constantly plays video games. (不要：he plays video games 24/7!)

5、“deplane”

英國(guó)人吐槽：我不能忍受的就是“deplane”這個(gè)詞,，意思就是下飛機(jī),，用法是這樣的：“You will be able to deplane momentarily(您很快就能下飛機(jī)了)”。

英式表達(dá)：“deplane”這個(gè)詞英國(guó)人全然不用,，連我也只能猜出是什么意思!正確的詞： disembark, get off the plane,。

6,、“wait on”

英國(guó)人吐槽：有次我讀了一個(gè)朋友就在車站等車的消息“waiting on a train”，他所表達(dá)的意思是火車一直沒(méi)到站,，而我卻以為朋友在車上,。

英式表達(dá)：Wait on = wait for. Wait for train, not wait on a train。

7,、“It is what it is”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“It is what it is.(這就是事實(shí),。)” 同情同情我們吧!

英式表達(dá)：不如說(shuō)：That’s just what’s happened. That’s just how it’s turned out.

Eg：We tried everything to make the situation easier, but that’s just how it’s turned out.

8、“fanny pack”

英國(guó)人吐槽：敢不敢提fanny pack(腰包)啊?

英式表達(dá)：Fanny Pack = Bum bag. 美語(yǔ)中的fanny是屁股的意思,，但英式英語(yǔ)中fanny的意思就指女人的生殖器,，慎用! But fanny packs/bum bags aren’t really around anymore, they’re not considered to be cool!

9、 “Touch base”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“Touch base(聯(lián)系)”——這讓我不停地哆嗦,。

英式表達(dá)： Touch Base = 意思不大清楚,，get in touch/get in contact/make contact with 都更好點(diǎn)。

10,、“physicality”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“Physicality(物質(zhì)性)”真的是一個(gè)詞嗎?

英式表達(dá)： Physicality是泛指物質(zhì)的physical state/condition. Use “physical”state instead!

Eg：You will be able to disembark the plane shortly/ you’ll be able to get off the plane shortly.

11,、 “Transportation”

英國(guó)人吐槽：Transportation(交通工具)是怎么回事?加個(gè)ation有必要嗎?

英式表達(dá)：就說(shuō)transport就可以。

12,、“l(fā)everage”

英國(guó)人吐槽：我討厭聽(tīng)到的詞是“l(fā)everage”,。把它讀成lev-er-ig(美)，而不是lee-ver-ig(英),。好像各行各業(yè)突然都這么讀了,，意思貌似也變成“附加值”了。

英式表達(dá)：這是對(duì)讀音的不滿,，不是用法上的，但leverage在美式英語(yǔ)中有“舉債經(jīng)營(yíng)”的意思,，英式英語(yǔ)用gearing表達(dá)此意,。

13、“turn”

英國(guó)人吐槽：難道沒(méi)人慶祝生日(celebrate a birthday)了嗎?我們一定都要“turn”12歲或者21歲或者40歲嗎?連愛(ài)丁堡公爵過(guò)生日也統(tǒng)統(tǒng)說(shuō)成上個(gè)月他“turning”90歲,。這是什么時(shí)候開(kāi)始的?我喜歡這個(gè)表達(dá)本身,，但它似乎取代掉其他所有談?wù)撋�日的說(shuō)法了。

英式表達(dá)：He’s turning 23已經(jīng)變成了最常用的說(shuō)法,，但也可以說(shuō)：it’s his 23rd birthday/he’ll be 23.

14,、“shopping cart”

英國(guó)人吐槽：我發(fā)現(xiàn)現(xiàn)在自己會(huì)說(shuō)：”shopping cart(購(gòu)物手推車)”而不是shopping trolley，我非常討厭這一點(diǎn),。我從沒(méi)去過(guò)美國(guó),，也沒(méi)在美國(guó)生活過(guò)。

英式表達(dá)：在英國(guó)買(mǎi)東西的時(shí)候,，要說(shuō)trolley,，而不說(shuō)cart!

15,、“gotten”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“Gotten(get的過(guò)去分詞，美式用法)”到底是個(gè)什么詞?它總是讓我不寒而栗,。

英式表達(dá)： Gotten?!我的耳朵要出血了!He’s gotten a bit ill?扯淡!應(yīng)該是He’s fallen ill! The weather has gotten better?屁話!應(yīng)該是The weather turned out nice!

英式表達(dá)：敗了!I’m good就I’m good吧!

英國(guó)人吐槽：用”bangs”表示劉海???He’s growing bangs???

英式表達(dá)：He’s growing a fringe.

18、“Take-out”

英國(guó)人吐槽：英國(guó)人完全不會(huì)說(shuō)takeout(外賣(mài)),，你要是在這兒的話,，一定要入鄉(xiāng)隨俗哈!

英式表達(dá)：該是“half an hour”!

eg: He’ll be here in half an hour is better than he’ll be here in a half hour.

21、“heads up”

英國(guó)人吐槽：在商業(yè)會(huì)議上說(shuō)：Lets do a “heads up(提醒)” on this issue. 我至今還不知道是什么意思,。

英式表達(dá)：這個(gè)意思是提前告訴個(gè)人某消息,，為了讓他們更好做準(zhǔn)備。比較正式的說(shuō)法是I’ll let you know beforehand/ I’ll inform you in advance.

22,、“Train station”

英國(guó)人吐槽：Train station(火車站),，每次聽(tīng)到它，我就很惱火,。誰(shuí)開(kāi)始用這個(gè)詞的?他們沒(méi)有被罰嗎?

英式表達(dá)：railway station比較地道,，但是我個(gè)人覺(jué)得train station 這個(gè)說(shuō)法已經(jīng)被流行化了，甭太較真了!

23,、 “alphabetize it”

英國(guó)人吐槽：把一張表按照字母順序排列就是去“alphabetize it”——非常不爽!

英式表達(dá)：英國(guó)人都說(shuō)： I’ll put this list in alphabetical order.

24,、“my bad”

英國(guó)人吐槽：那些在犯錯(cuò)后說(shuō)“my bad(我的錯(cuò))”的人，我真不知道事情怎么可以變得如此讓人惱火,、將惰性體現(xiàn)得淋漓盡致的!

英式表達(dá)：文質(zhì)彬彬的人都該說(shuō)： I’m sorry that was my fault/it was my fault/my mistake.

eg：I thought this was the place but I got totally mixed up. My mistake.

25,、 “Normalcy”

英國(guó)人吐槽：用“normalcy(正常狀態(tài))”真的會(huì)激怒我，真想打說(shuō)的人一個(gè)耳光哈!實(shí)在太錯(cuò)了這個(gè)詞兒啊!

英式表達(dá)：normality

26,、“burglarize”

英國(guó)人吐槽：作為一名生活在新奧爾良的僑民,，我有很長(zhǎng)一串清單，但是“burglarize(破門(mén)盜竊)”是我目前最不喜歡的詞,。

英式表達(dá)：英國(guó)用burgle!

eg：The burglar burgled the house – he didn’t BURGLARIZE it.

27,、 “Oftentimes”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“Oftentimes(經(jīng)常)”會(huì)讓我惱怒得直哆嗦。

英式表達(dá)：有種種比這個(gè)詞兒好聽(tīng)的生詞，比如：often,、frequently,、usually、regularly,、a lot of the time等,。

28、 “Eaterie”

英國(guó)人吐槽：Eaterie(餐館),。經(jīng)常聽(tīng)到,，天吶!!

英式表達(dá)：RESTAURANT!!!

29、“bi-weekly”

英國(guó)人吐槽：美國(guó)人需要用bi-weekly(每?jī)芍芤淮?,，fortnightly明明足夠好用了,。

英式表達(dá)：fortnightly

eg：We meet every fortnight for dinner.

30、“alternate”

英國(guó)人吐槽：我討厭用“alternate”替代“alternative”,。我不喜歡這個(gè)因?yàn)樗鼈兪遣煌�的兩個(gè)詞,，它們分別有不同的意思，兩者都很有用,。用alternate替代alternative會(huì)讓我們失去一個(gè)詞,。

英式表達(dá)：alternate是every other x的意思，比如說(shuō)：隔日=alternate days,但是alternative是替代性的,，an alternative day有改天的意思,。

31、“Hike”

英國(guó)人吐槽：“Hike(提升)”價(jià)格,。那是不是意味著“提升價(jià)格的人”可以用hikers表示?不,，hikers(旅行者)是“漫游者”的意思好不好!

英式表達(dá)：Raise a price/lift a price。
